And, don't forget that we were not allowed to have large coolers. How did average sized families manage without coolers? Did the WTS have a deal with Oscar Meyer Lunchables or something?

I remember the warm overs for DC's and the full cooked hot meals for CA's. I also remember the hardship of bringing food to the convention when we weren't allowed to cook in the rooms and there was no refridgerator, either. How the hell did people manage? There was such bad traffic all over the city that finding a place to buy food that would stay good in the heat was nearly impossible. We bought lunchables and that's it. We also went out to eat sometimes breaking the rules about leaving for lunch. Breakfast was easy as it was always McD's. Dinner was easy as it was always Denney's. Lunch was a non-event, nothing like it was when we ate good hot food in CA's cafeterias. I sure did miss it. I loved to go and buy the warm-overs and snow cones at DA's. They sure sucked the fun out of assemblies when they took away the food. Order us not to leave for lunch and what are we left with? Soggy sandwitches that could by then have food poisoning or Lunchables that don't fill a person up.
this article has more cheesy hammy moments then a domino's pizza.
warning mega cheesy alert!!.
watch.
What does cheesy mean outside of that fact that it describes a delicious pizza? I also think of the powder for macaroni and cheese.
yes, apparently it's official.
i am an apostate.
i have been df'd for about 5 years now.
Witness Monopoly. That's a good one! Go directly to Gehenna.
i was checking jwd and just received a call from an older sister to check on me and see how i was doing.. right off the bat she started telling me how hard times are and everybody is depressed and having a tough time, .
on and on and on and how the new system is the only releif and hope we have..........well i could feel my blood boiling and put a stop to it .
and just reminded her i just don't believe anymore, i have no more faith but i'm doing just fine and i'm very happy and things are going well for me.. well, she didn't know what to say after that and started once again how jehovah is blessing the organization since there are more than 900 kh.
That is what my dad is doing right now. Boo-hooing this old system in Satan's control and extolling the wonders of "The Hope." Geez, they talk themselves into a deep depression. Really, JW's have one of the highest rates of depression, and now I see why. If you program yourself to think negatively about everything but the future that hasn't happened yet and is being postponed, you can't help but feel a little depressed. Now, multiply that by several hours a week for many many years and you get a mess of a person. It's pathetic. So much negativity about life now is very unhealthy. I tire of hearing about it in every conversation we have.
I attended to support my daughter for the last time sometime two years ago. I don't quite remember exactly when. We both got mad at what they were saying about why people leave the WT that was in the WT study and left in a huff. We fumed all the way home. She said it was her last time. She did visit on other occasions but only for friends and not content.
attending spanish congregation's, is there a difference as far as them being more easy going ?
i knew a few brothers and sisters who would say that.
anyone experience any length of time in a spanish hall ?
Oh yeah, Spanish khalls definately rock! They are much more family oriented and fun after meetings than English, which are stuffy and much more boring after meetings (go home and that's it.) In the Spanish halls, the kids run all over the place, including the parking lot, and are seldom repremanded.

Ours seemed to be, then there was the one here in the east that was not as much. The parties were infinately better, though. Loud music with elders dancing as hard as the others. Spanish congs. also have weekly get togethers and sports much more than English.
for those still "in" but looking for an exit, what changes to current practices/teaching would make you decide to stay "in" ?
I forgot one of the most important things: EQUALIZE THE SISTERS WITH THE BROTHERS IN MATTERS OF PRIVILEDGES AND SERVICE! The way it is demoralized women horribly. We may not want to do extra work, but the way it is really disrespects us. We would be willing to do what it takes to make a healthy and happy congregation. That can't happen if most of the congregation is ignored. The large army are going out without weapons.
